STEP 2: PREPARE YOUR HAIR EXTENSIONS
Before washing hair extensions, be sure to brush or comb them to smooth out any tangles and knots to make them easier to wash. Start by brushing gently with a wide tooth comb or extension brush from bottom to top to remove any tough knots without snapping of pulling the hair out. If your hair extensions are particularly prone to tangle, consider using a detangling spray or serum to help loosen knots and make the process easier.

STEP 3: SHAMPOO YOUR HAIR EXTENSIONS
Ensure that your sink or bath is clean before washing your hair extension, then fill it with warm water and adding 2-3 pumps of sulfate-free, colored hair friendly shampoo to the water to create a soapy “bath” for the hair. Immerse the lengths of your extensions into the water and wash them gently. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing too vigorously, especially near the bonds or clip, because this can cause tangle and matting. When you are finished, lift the hair from the water and drain you sink or bath. Rinse your extensions thoroughly with warm water untill all the shampoo is removed.

STEP 4: CONDITION YOUR HAIR EXTENSIONS
After rinsing your hair, applying a sulfate-free conditioner from the middle to the ends of the hair. Be sure to avoid applying conditioner directly on the roots and near bonds of the extensions, because this can weigh down the extensions and cause them to become greasy. Conditioning the hair will help it remain smooth, shiny and healthy, so leave the hair extensions on for around 5 – 10 minutes before rinsing.
While the conditioner is still in your hair extensions, use a wide-tooths comb or extension brush to gently detangle them once more. Starting from the bottom, work your way up, being carefull not to tug or pull too hard. This action is crucial for preventing knots and tangles, especially if you have curly or textured extensions.

STEP 5: BLOT DRY
When you’re finished rinsing your hair extensions, gently squeeze out any excess water from root to tip using a towel to remove moisture. Never rubbing or wringing them out, because this can cause knots or even damage the hair. Instead, gently squeeze the extensions between the towels to absorb the water without causing friction. For best results, use a microfiber towel or an old t-shirt to help prevent frizz.

STEP 6: AIR DRY
Allow your hair extensions to air dry naturally. Avoid using heat styling tools (such as hairdryers, straighteners, or curling irons), as excessive heat can damage the hair fibers and cause them to become dry and brittle.
If you are in hurry, you can use a low-heat setting on a blow dryer to speed up the drying process, but avoid direct heat exposure whenever possible.
Genlty brush your hair once it’s dry, from the bottom and slowly work your way up. You can now also style your extensions and natural hair using a straightener or curling iron. If you won’t be applying the hair right away, store them in an approriate bag or box, or place them on an extensions hangers.
